Free CV Template & Checklist
Created by a recruiter with 20+ years hiring experience
Looking for a job is one of the most stressful things you can go through and I know that because I’ve been there myself.
When I was made redundant a few years ago, it hit me harder than I expected. The uncertainty, the pressure, the silence after applications… none of it is easy.
I’ve been working in recruitment and Talent Acquisition for over 20 years now.
I’ve reviewed tens of thousands of CVs, probably hundreds of thousands, and I know exactly what recruiters and hiring managers look for when they scan a CV in those first few seconds.
A couple of years ago I was scrolling through social media and kept seeing terrible job search advice. Some of it was genuinely harmful. Some of it was designed to exploit people when they were at their most vulnerable.
Things like “ATS-optimised CVs” (which don’t even exist), or coaches charging hundreds of pounds for something people didn’t really need.
It bothered me. Not in an angry way, just a sense that people deserved better.
So I started sharing simple, accurate and honest job search advice.
Just the truth from someone who’s been inside the hiring process for two decades.
One of the very first things I created was this CV template. It’s now been downloaded over 25,000 times, and I get messages every day from people saying it helped them land interviews.
I’ve also pulled together a checklist so you .can check if your CV to see if it would survive a recruiter’s first 6–12 seconds scan.
That’s why I do this.
That’s why I share what I know.
And I hope this template & checklist helps you move one step closer to the job you want.
